Our Story

Welcome to Provision Bread & Bakery - A local bakery in Downtown Colorado Springs!

Provision started with two people’s dream of having an amazing bakery downtown that would be deeply committed to local food, from amazing farmers who are stewarding the land well. We began working together at Switchback - Hillside where many of the base ingredients and recipes came to life. We tested many products with our guests, new ideas, bagel days, Mother’s day brunches and various other products getting excited about what might come next.

In 2022, the search for the perfect downtown location began. After meeting with several developers and envisioning various concepts, the stars aligned, and the ideal space revealed itself—a true provision that would become the home of Provision Bread & Bakery. We believe in sourcing the finest ingredients, favoring organic and regenerative farms, and prioritizing local partnerships whenever possible. Our bakery proudly champions whole grain, naturally leavened creations, with plans to mill our own flour.

At Provision, we strive for excellence in every loaf, pastry, and treat we create. Upon moving to our Downtown location and separating officially from Switchback, which is also owned by the same owner as Provision, we began to build a team of amazing bakers both interested in bread and pastry. We meticulously select each ingredient, knowing that the quality of our inputs directly impacts the flavors and experiences we deliver. We are on a mission to delight your taste buds, nourish your body, and ignite your passion for exceptional food.
